Hey guys! As you know, there is a movie night scheduled to be in early September. I wanted it to be a movie within the college atmosphere in order to attract the incoming freshmen. The choices are Higher Learning, The Great Debaters, or School Daze. I want it to be more of a loose atmosphere so there will be no formal discussion afterward. Along with your votes for the movie, I would also like to know what you think about the movie location. Danielle and I were considering the AMR I MPR. Comment with your votes and your opinions.

I personally love School Daze and I think the AMR MPR is a great ideal, its comfortable and it has enough space for everyone, while being on the freshman quad. pregunta, refreshments?

I think I would like to watch “School Daze” and I, too was wondering about refreshments.

I don’t have any suggestions for now, but it’s really hard for me to sit through anything by Spike Lee more than once…his filming style kills me. Tries to make his work look raw and authentic when it reality, it just looks a mess. Any John Singleton movie though works!

The Great Debaters. I think AMR I seems fine. And Nora your post was hilarious.

I vote for School Daze! Also, is the MPR the room with the large television in it or is one of those rooms to the immediate right/left of the entrance? I think the movie room would be a better idea if the room you’re proposing is the latter.

If it wasn’t explicit enough, my vote is for Higher Learning.

I say Crooklyn, but since it’s not on the list…I’ll go with School Daze

it’s between school daze and higher learning. And i really feel like higher learning satisfies every emotion for a movie, it has comedy, aggression, drama, everything. so yeah higher learning

Since the BSU actually showed School Daze last year, I’m going to say that you go with Higher Learning, and suggest that you screen it in the BSU room. Plenty of space. If the TV there isn’t big enough, you can rent a projector from the DMC.

and the BSU room sounds like a great place to show it

Higher Learning ftw (tho crooklyn would be a great suggestion, sounds like a great movie choice for the future!)
I have always been a fan of the BSU room for this event…. but I will go with the opinion of the general body on this one…

If everything falls into place, which hopefully it will, I say the BSU Room would be awesome and hella comfy otherwise I’d stick with my original choice of the AMR MPR
