It is my sincerest hope that the Black Student Union will continue to thrive as a community and as a force for progress. The organization must first ensure that Johns Hopkins welcomes each student as an individual, united in a thirst for knowledge and the promise of a prosperous future, free of the nefarious hostility of prejudice borne of ignorance. Our second duty is to utilize the talents and resources afforded to us to serve our community. The ladders of opportunity we have reached must be available to the next generation of students. The Black Student Union is a support structure and forum for these efforts, and our success will strengthen that capacity for years to come.
